‘Anganwadi Centres Should Not Reopen Till We Have a Vaccine’

Q: What kind of facilities are you getting right now?

Beneficiary: We are getting the facility of vaccination, and sometimes Anganwadi Workers come home to give the Take Home Ration (THR).

Q: Do you think Anganwadi centres should reopen? If yes, will you allow your child to go to the centre?

Beneficiary: Anganwadi centres should not reopen because the children studying there are very young to understand the meaning or importance of social distancing. They can also get the infection easily.

Secondly, considering the kind of facilities that Anganwadi centres have, they should not reopen till the time we have a vaccine.

Q: What kind of information is being given to you by the Anganwadi Worker or Sevika?

Beneficiary: They have asked us to wear a mask whenever we are going out. We have also been told to wash our hands frequently with soap, and maintain social distancing.
