‘Cases Not Being Tracked By Us Now’
Updated: Oct 12, 2022
Q: How were vaccinations being done at the Anganwadi centre during the COVID-19 lockdown?
ASHA: Vaccinations were not being done for the last 5-6 months; however, these have now started. The Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) comes to the Anganwadi Centre, where the Anganwadi sister and I already are. Vaccinations happen like these were happening before.
Q: Are you still going door-to-door to keep a track of cases?
ASHA: The tracking of cases is not being done anymore, but anyone having cold, cough, or fever is being sent to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) for examination.
Q: What challenges are you facing right now, if any?
ASHA: On some days there is a lot of work to do, while on other days we only have routine work to take care of.
This interview was conducted with an ASHA worker in Purnea, Bihar in Hindi on 28 October 2020, and has been translated.
